-Name: Julian Anthony Courtland
-Age: 16
-PoB/DoB: Alder, Adeth/August 12
-Status/Occupation: He's a low noble; his parents are the lord and
lady of Alder, but they have pretty much no influence in court, and they're really only wealthy enough to still be considered
nobles. Essentially, he's a backwater, country bumpkin noble boy that pretty much has no hope to see Court.
-Appearance:
-Hair: It's a dirty blond/light brown color,
falling to about the shoulders, usually in his eyes. He doesn't bother with it more often than not, and it usually looks like
the picture.
-Eyes: They're a grey-blue color, a little
foggy, usually red-rimmed and with dark circles. They're just a little deeper-set than normal, but they really look it with
the dark circles. His lashes border on being feminine.
-Features: Strong bone structure in his
face; strong jaw, defined cheekbones, straight nose, but a generous mouth, usually in a frown.
-Body: Tall and really lean; he's a little
underweight, and a bit of an unhealthy color. He has a bunch of scars, a few of them self-inflicted, but most of them just
ones he got around dangerous areas/objects and being really careless.
-Clothing: Couldn't give a damn; plain shirts
and breeches, not espeically well-made, in a lot of dark or bland colors.
-Jewelry/Weapons: Actually...yes! He tends to wear bracelets, but
can also sometimes be seen to wear necklaces or rings. It depends on his mood/No, not really.
-Personality: When you first see him, you think 'mean'. This isn't
really true; mostly he's just apathetic. He's observant, quiet, but really doesn't care. He's got a strange sense of humour
that most don't get, and he's really not a person people cling to or remember (and if they do, it's usually not positive).
If you can get a reaction out of him, you might actually find him kind of nice, if a little on the cynical side. He can be
extremely cruel when he's going through withdrawl, but he's usually pretty careful about that. He doesn't flirt, at all. He
pretty much never loses his temper, because...he doesn't care. His only problem: when he find something he does care about,
he won't let go.
-Strengths: He can fight like a demon with his bare hands; he's
all right with knives and passable with a sword, but what's it really matter when he can just use his hands? He'd be
smart, if he bothered. He's a pretty good writer, and he can really keep secrets. He has surprisingly good grasp on his magic.
He's really understanding, in the end, and pretty loyal, too, but...eh
-Weaknesses: Well, the whole apathy is a major weakness that ties
into everything else. He can't bring himself to care; he's just so careless/reckless, and just doesn't think things through
that when he bothers with actions, they can have pretty bad consequences. He's also pretty lazy. He can set himself up for
some major pain when he does finally hang on to someone/thing, because he gives them pretty much everything, and can get disappointed
if it's not offered in return. He has a soft spot for little kids (I'm not sure this counts...).
Magic: He's telekinetic. He's not extremely strong, it's
mostly average, but it's come in handy. Controlling it sort of came naturally to him.
Friends: Uhm, no.
Enemies: Uhm, no!
Significant Other: Haha, no.
Family:
-Father: Jared Courtland, age 40. Distant
but never cruel, he loves his children but doesn't know how to show it. Often struggling to keep the Courtland name in respect.
Far smarter than his wife.
-Mother: Kitri Courtland, age 35. Very motherly,
caring, and often too overprotective, she doesn't have much to do with politics. Nice, but pretty feather-headed.
-Sisters: Marnella Courtland, age 9. Usually
called Marnie, she adores him, and she was always one of the few people he bothered with. Probably the reason he has a soft
spot for kids.
-History: He didn't have a bad life, really. Alder's a bit out there,
so it was kind of isolated, but he had friends and his family was never cruel. Really, he was just bored, and he managed to
hook up with a girl that got him on Flight first, and then Olarion as he was coming down from the high. He later became addicted
to both, though when his parents found out, they kept him in his rooms so he pretty much went on a forced withdrawl process.
It wasn't pretty, but he doesn't blame them for anything. Really, it might have ended there, except he later got addicted
to Olarion again. His parents gave up, and sent him to Whispers, hoping it might help straighten him out. In general, he's
always been reckless, but now it's a carelessness that is now dangerous, helped along by an apathy that makes him not care
for anything, including himself.
Classes: year 6. Again, smart but he doesn't bother, and will probably
fail these.
